Perched on a mountain slope with sweeping views of the pristine countryside and sparkling blue sea, this stone villa combines rustic charm with modern comforts in an idyllic setting. The nearest village, Flomochori, is a listed traditional settlement of eastern Mani with several iconic tower houses. One kilometre from Flomochori is the lovely seaside village of Chalikia Vatta with a wonderful pebble beach. Apart from some amazing hiking trails and cycling routes in the area, guests can also enjoy water sports and explore nearby caves. The historic town of Areopoli, a must see, is just a 20-minute drive away, with inviting cafés, tavernas, small bars and evocative reminders of a turbulent past.

Drawing on the vernacular architecture of Mani, the 250 m2 stone property was built as a fortification around 1770. Lovingly restored throughout, care has been taken to leave much of its original exterior and interior intact, including the wood-fired oven. Standing alone, with no other properties nearby, the villa offers a tranquil getaway, whether relaxing by the pool and dining under the stars in summer or discovering cosy tavernas and huddled by the fire in winter. The only sounds to break the silence are the chattering of birds and the gentle tinkling of goat bells.
The villa has 6 double bedrooms, each with en suite bathroom featuring attractive Corian surfaces. The first two are opposite each other, one with two single beds and the other with a double bed.
In each there is a sofa that can easily be made into a bed for a young child. The third bedroom is in the main house next to the kitchen and living room, while the master bedroom on the upper level has a walk-in closet and a spacious bathroom with a bathtub and rain shower. The bedrooms are ideally placed for maximum privacy. The fifth is a smaller double bedroom with separate entrance on the ground floor. The detached sixth bedroom (new addition) with independent access ideal for a nanny or teenagers, again with ensuite bathroom and sea views.

The living room is a cosy hangout with a fireplace, flat screen TV as well as a selection of books and board games. The island design kitchen with Corian surfaces and top-of-the-range Gaggenau appliances is also great for quiet evenings in, with fine wine, delicious food, fun board games and good friends.
